Psychotherapy for individuals and couples

Therapy is not just for those in a crisis. Meeting with a therapist regularly provides preventative measures for your present and future mental health. It can uncover insights and drive greater understanding of the self and uncover patterns in relationships through meaningful exploration of thoughts, emotions, and behaviors; help gain profound understanding of how your past is impacting your present; and learn the skills to identify and communicate your emotional experiences. My work is influenced by relational and attachment-based philosophies and includes several treatment modalities including Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy (AEDP), Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), tailored to meet the needs or each individual in my care.

Therapy for infertility and perinatal mental health

One significant passion for me is helping women, men and families navigate the challenges of family planning, including infertility, assisted reproductive technologies (such as IUI and IVF), surrogacy, sperm and egg donation, and adoption. There are so many choices when it comes to starting a family, and these come with their own set of unique challenges - and every person has their own unique reasons for entering the fertility process. I have experience working with people in all areas of this journey, from initial family planning through the postpartum experience and have helped people navigate everything from miscarriage, to termination and loss, to secondary infertility, and grief of a life that looks different than expected. No matter where you are on your fertility journey, I’d love to be part of your care team!

Clinical Supervision

I offer individual and group supervision for LMHCs and MHC-LPs in New York who wish to obtain their diagnostic privilege. We will work together on reviewing your cases, navigating challenging clinical situations, and creating assessment-based treatment plans. We will prepare you to clinically assess and diagnose clients in order to improve treatment plans, better understand cases, and to improve patient outcomes.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Therapy Right for Me?

Therapy is for everyone! Whether you’ve survived a traumatic experience, are struggling with the anxiety and stress of daily life, or simply want a dedicated space to focus on yourself, therapy can be beneficial. It is an opportunity to talk with someone in a judgment-free environment, to explore your emotions, and to learn new strategies for coping with the difficulties of life.

How do I know You’re the Right Therapist for Me?

Right now, you don’t. Finding a therapist can feel a bit like dating. It is difficult to know which approach, personality, and relationship is the right one for you. If you’ve read my background and areas of specialty and feel like I might be a good fit for your needs, that is a great first step.

The best way to know if we are a good fit for one another is to start our work together. Research shows, the biggest predictor of success in therapy is the relationship. This process can start with a free consultation so we can get a better sense for each other. Book yours today.

I’m Dealing with Infertility, do I need A Therapist with Specific Training?

Yes, definitely! Infertility is complex and requires extensive training to properly support. It is an ethical imperative in our field to have the proper training when working with individuals dealing with infertility issues. Even if I am not the therapist for you, I recommend finding someone who not only has their certification from Postpartum Support International (PMH-C) but who also has training and credentials from the American Society for Reproductive Medicine. This will allow your provider to properly support you through this chapter of your life without you, as the client, needing to educate them on the clinical aspects of your experiences.

DO YOU TAKE INSURANCE?

Yes, I take a variety of insurances both in network and out of network. My billing team will provide you with the invoices you need for reimbursement. Book a consultation today to learn more.

HOW LONG ARE SESSIONS?

All sessions are 45 minutes in length and will be conducted virtually via Zoom.

HOW FREQUENTLY DO I ATTEND THERAPY?

I encourage clients to attend therapy weekly in order to maintain therapeutic progress and consistency in their care. Clients may be seen more than once per week in times of crisis.

WILL I HAVE THE SAME TIME SLOT EACH WEEK?

It is recommended that you try to schedule at a time that works for you consistently each week. If you have an unpredictable schedule, we can discuss the option of a floater slot that we will schedule each week.

DO YOU OFFER VIRTUAL THERAPY?

Yes, at this time I am currently only providing services virtually.

WILL EVERYTHING I SAY REMAIN CONFIDENTIAL?

Confidentiality is incredibly important to our work to ensure that you can trust that what you say in the room with me will stay between us. With only a few exceptions, what you share with me, even the most sensitive information, will not be shared with anyone else without your permission. As a therapist, I am legally mandated to disclose if someone is at imminent risk of harming themselves or others or if I become aware of child abuse. Should there be a need for me to coordinate with other healthcare providers, such as a physician or psychiatrist, or another professional like an attorney, I can do so, but only with your written consent.

WHAT IS YOUR CANCELLATION POLICY?

Your weekly session is a time reserved just for you. I understand that life happens so if you need to cancel or reschedule, you can do so up to 24 hours in advance, after which you will be charged the full rate of the session.
