Terms of Service
Last updated: March 2026
Welcome to ashleymead.com. By using this website, you agree to the following terms. Please read them — they're written in plain language, not dense legalese. Questions? Email therapist@ashleymead.com.
1. No Therapist-Client Relationship
Using this website does not create a therapist-client relationship between you and Ashley Mead, LMHC. A formal therapeutic relationship begins only after a signed informed consent agreement and completion of the intake process. Until that time, no therapist-client relationship exists, and no confidentiality obligations apply to communications made through this website.
If you are looking to start therapy, please schedule a free consultation — that's the first step.
2. Educational Content Only
The information on this website — including blog posts, service descriptions, FAQs, and resource pages — is provided for general educational and informational purposes only. It is not a substitute for professional mental health advice, diagnosis, or treatment from a licensed therapist.
Always seek guidance from a qualified mental health professional for questions about your own mental health. Never disregard professional advice or delay seeking it because of something you read on this website.
3. Crisis Resources
This website is not a crisis service. If you or someone you know is in immediate danger or experiencing a mental health emergency:
- Call 911 for immediate emergencies
- Call or text 988 — Suicide & Crisis Lifeline (free, confidential, 24/7)
- Text HOME to 741741 — Crisis Text Line (free, confidential, 24/7)
- Go to your nearest emergency room if you need immediate in-person care
These resources are available around the clock and are staffed by trained crisis counselors.
4. Telehealth Scope and Geographic Limitations
Ashley Mead, LMHC is licensed to provide telehealth therapy services to residents of New York, Connecticut, and Florida only. Visiting this website does not constitute receiving services and imposes no geographic restriction, but therapy services are only available to individuals physically located in those states during sessions.
All sessions are conducted via a secure, HIPAA-compliant telehealth platform. In-person sessions are not available.
5. Booking and Cancellation
Consultation and session bookings are managed through Calendly and the practice's scheduling system. By booking an appointment, you agree to the cancellation and rescheduling policies provided at the time of booking. Specific fee and cancellation policies will be outlined during the intake process and in your informed consent agreement.
Failure to provide adequate notice for cancellations may result in a late cancellation or no-show fee as described in your consent documentation.
